The IT Technical Specialist IV performs advanced IT activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of IT principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry standards and university policy. Requires a great amount of evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May be responsible for training, assisting or supervising lower level IT personnel and other staff. May lead projects and cross-functional activities. Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for building and managing UAs institutional web framework, administering UAs enterprise content management system (CMS), and for supporting key institutional web sites that positively impact UA's overall digital communication strategies including the University home page. The UA institutional framework includes the underlying technology utilized by the University home page as well as web templates and themes utilized campus wide in order to ensure a consistently branded, technologically advanced and responsive overall web presence. The associate director is responsible for the day-to-day operation and administration of the enterprise content management system and the back-end technology and workflow used by Web Communications, and functions as a primary support person for critical institutional web resources and the UA framework. This position also participates in the development and implementation of technical and content strategies used by all Strategic Communications websites, and supports the director of web communications in building and managing an effective overall web presence. This position also serves as a project manager for a variety of projects and initiatives, and is responsible for evaluating work product and mentoring other Web Communications staff. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in a relevant IT field (Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered), OR Master's degree and 1 year of IT experience, OR any equivalent combination of experience, training, education and/or certification from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been obtained. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional or security technology skills or knowledge of project management methods and applications. May require advanced level training or certification. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining websites, including thorough knowledge of HTML5, PHP, Javascript, CSS, CMS development, database management, and web security. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or other image-editing and code-editing tools. Experience in building websites that meet technology accessibility standards. Skills and Knowledge: Ability to clearly convey messages through writing. Superior file management and organizational skills. Ability to self-start with little supervision. Strong project management skills. Good interpersonal skills to include strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to think and plan strategically as part of a team. Strong knowledge of laws and policies governing Internet communications, including general copyright laws, standard HTML protocols, web accessibility standards, database development techniques, and web standards. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, communications, marketing, public relations or a related technical field. Experience in web communications, marketing, public relations or related experience. Knowledge of UA web guidelines and policies. Experience using Bootstrap or other similar frameworks to build and manage websites. Experience building and managing templates for content management systems. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 45635.16 Midpoint - $ 66164.76 Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation.
