The University of Alabama is a student-centered research university with the Department of Mathematics embarking on a multi-year effort to improve education in calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra courses. The successful candidate will primarily teach these courses, with the opportunity for teaching some upper-division courses and/or summer courses, if desired. The candidate will also likely coordinate multi-section courses and work within the department to improve these courses. The Department of Mathematics at The University of Alabama invites applications for one non-tenure multi-year contract position at the Assistant Professor level beginning on August 16, 2018. This is a renewable position with opportunities for promotion to higher rank. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a closely related field, with a masters degree, or equivalent, in mathematics by August 16, 2018.
