Responsibilities include: Maintain an active research/publication record Teach undergraduate and graduate courses Advise graduate students Supervise practicum and internship experiences Work collaboratively with other colleges within theUniversity Seek external funds Serve on committees Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in early childhood special education or a very closely related field Evidence of scholarly potential for assistant professor level To be considered at the assistant level, evidence of scholarly potential through collaboration and participation in research and submitted publications, with the potential eventually to be promoted to associate with tenure. Three years of intervention or teaching experience in birth-3rd grade Preferred Qualifications: Track record of completed research published or potential to complete research and publish in top-tier journals Track record of or potential for external funding for research or substantial personnel preparation or service Expertise in child and family assessment, working with families, collaboration and consultation, instructional strategies for children with disabilities, behavior management, and intervention methods for birth-third grade Knowledge of curriculum requirements and trends in thediscipline Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders Commitment to diversity and excellence in higher education teacher preparation programs Knowledge of instructional technology applications anddistance delivery Knowledge and skills in home-based services and classroom and behavior management Further information about the program and college is accessible at www.education.ua.edu.
